#73. The Smiths – There is a Light that Never Goes Out (1986)

Jag ska inte säga så mycket om den här magnifika låten, förutom att jag alltid gillar när man använder en flöjt på rätt sätt.  Jag lämnar ordet till Martin Söderström i kommentarsfältet -en man som med stor sannolikhet kommer 1) uppröras av en för honom skandalöst låg placering av låten 2) I korta drag berätta hur mycket den betyder för honom.

En grej ska jag ta upp dock. Under klippen på YouTube när man letar nu till listan hittar man oftast kommentarer i stil med “This song is the best evah!” eller “I love this so much!!“. Under ovanstående video fanns följande -dagsfärska- kommentarer. Jag tror de säger en del om The Smiths och The Smiths fans.

    i’m 41 years old …i grew up listing to this song…. yes i had a broken hart or 2 but with time it will heal and you wil move forward in life.

    @Marty0Mcfly when i fell in love with mine we used to drive around her town listening to this song. and it all fit so perfectly. but now that shes gone… i wish the double decker bus woudlve crashed into us before it all got so ugly and corrupt. ill always love her deeply…. but… as good as love is… its just as bad.

    @rcarniado yeah.. everyone says that to me these days… i know ill meet someone new. someone just as great as she was. but it’ll never be the same. it never is. and thats whats sad. ill never get back what i had before. its gone. its gone for good. but the smiths are forever :)
